Terms and Conditions

Please carefully read the terms and conditions of boarding, before booking, and bringing your dog and/or cat to board with us at Warren Wood Kennels and Cattery.

While all possible care and attention will be given, dogs and cats are boarded entirely at the owner’s risk.

BOARDING

• Boarding fees are charged on a daily basis including the day of arrival and departure.
• We accept payment by (preferably) Debit Card or, when not practical, Cash.
• No pet will be accepted for boarding unless payment has been received in full prior to arrival.
• A 100% non-refundable or transferable advance payment is required for all bookings of 4 days or less.
• A 40% non-refundable or transferable deposit is required for all bookings over 4 days. The balance being due 7 days (28 days for Christmas and New Year) prior to the commencement date of boarding where the total booking value will become non- refundable and non-transferable.
• In the event of owners returning before the end of the booking, no refund or transfer will be given.
  (Please note, advance deposits and payments cover booking administration costs, staffing and fixed costs).
• Pets turned away due to incorrect/out of date vaccinations will be liable to 100% payment of the total booking value. No refund or transfer given.
• Warren Wood reserves the right to refuse boarding to any Dog or Cat that is considered to have an unsuitable temperament (e.g., displays aggressive tendencies) or unfit on health grounds and will be liable to 100% of the total booking value. No refund or transfer given.
• Boarding prices are reviewed annually and revised charges are effective from 1st January. Please check prior to booking for the following year.
• No discount is given if owners bring in their own Dog or Cat food.
• Warren Wood will use all reasonable endeavours to feed as instructed by the owner. However alternative diets/brands may be fed if the dog or cat is not eating its usual diet unless instructed not to do so due to specific health reasons. Please note, Warren Wood does not provide veterinary diets or specialist/niche diets.
• Please do not bring in feeding bowls as we supply these.
• Bedding is provided, but if you wish to bring in your own, with the smells of home, please keep it to a minimum as it must be able to easily fit into a standard domestic washing machine and tumble dryer. No large padded beds, duvets or bean bags will be accepted.
• We cannot be held liable for Items brought in with your pet (e.g., toys, carriers, scratching posts, leads, bedding).
• Drop off and collection. Arrivals and departures can only be accepted during our advertised opening hours. Anyone attempting to drop off or collect their pet outside of these times, without prior written agreement from the owners, Emily and Karl Feakes will incur an additional charge of £50.00 on top of the original full cost of booking.
• Emergency Contact. Warren Wood requires an emergency contact number of a trusted friend, relative or neighbour who can speak on your behalf if we are unable to contact you. A contact number for a stand by collector should also be provided (if different) should the owner be delayed as we are unable to guarantee to be able to board your pet for any extra days.
• Late Collection. Should we not have the capacity to accommodate your pet in the event of a late collection, we may move your pet to another local kennels or Cattery of our choice and you will be liable for all fees incurred.
• Abandonment. We reserve the right to rehome pets not collected within 14 days of the stated departure date, if there is no communication from the owner or emergency contact and all efforts to contact the owner fail. The owner is responsible for all costs incurred. Suspected abandonment will be informed to all relevant authorities with the appropriate CCTV footage.
• Photography. You agree that we may use any photograph or videos of your pet, obtained whilst in our care, for promotional purposes, including our website, social media and printed materials. All such material remains the property of Warren Wood Kennels and Cattery. During their stay, photographs will not be posted publicly but instead on a private/closed Facebook group.
• Pets may only share a pen if they are from the same family and the pet’s owner has signed the appropriate section of the booking form.
• We reserve the right to split pets from the same home if aggressive tendencies are shown towards each other. The owner will then be liable to single occupancy charges, payable prior to collection
• Customer information held by us, is held for three years from the last booking as per our licensing requirements and six years for HMRC (with no customer identifiable data), and then destroyed. No digital information is retained by us.

HEALTH & MEDICAL

• Dogs and Cats will not be accepted for boarding without a VALID and UP TO DATE vaccination record (including next due date). Please refer below. Vaccination cards will be retained at Warren Wood as evidence of vaccination for the duration of the boarding period. If your pets vaccinations have elapsed and they require a full recourse, we are UNABLE to accept your pet for boarding for a minimum of two weeks AFTER the second dose has been administered (legally required by DEFRA, Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs). No refund or transfer given for pets turned away due to not being fully vaccinated or not having evidence of vaccination.
• Owners must inform Warren Wood at the time of booking and at least prior to arrival of any medical history which may affect the dog and or cats stay at Warren Wood, including any pre-existing or recurring medical conditions.
• Warren Wood reserves the right to contact the owner’s veterinary surgeon to discuss any past or current medical problems in the event of illness or injury.
• In the event of illness or injury Warren Wood will make all reasonable endeavours to contact the owner or the owner’s representative, prior to any treatment deemed necessary by Warren Wood’s veterinary surgeon (Ben Jones Veterinary Surgery, Saltney, Chester). If contact is not possible treatment will take place without the owner’s consent.
• Any veterinary fees incurred by Warren Wood in the treatment of a historical or ongoing medical condition, will be the sole responsibility of the owner and will be paid in full by the owner.
• Warren Wood reserves the right at its sole discretion to refuse admission to any dogs and cats showing signs of illness pending veterinary advice. The owners of Pets refused admittance to Warren Wood due to illness will be liable to 100% payment of the total booking value. No refund or transfer given.
• Any treatment deemed necessary for the dog or cat’s comfort and wellbeing e.g., matted fur, worming or flea treatment, will be carried out, with a veterinary telephone consultation, or a surgery consultation (if deemed necessary by Warren Wood’s veterinary surgeon, Ben Jones. (Ben Jones Veterinary Surgery, Saltney, Chester)). Veterinary fees, Medication and a fixed Warren Wood fee shall be charged to the owner. Please refer to Warren Woods advertised price list.
• Warren Wood Kennels and Cattery will administer medication to manageable dogs and cats. However, should there be a risk of harm to kennel and cattery staff or to the dog or cat itself, veterinary care may be needed. Except as otherwise set out in these terms and conditions, any veterinary fees incurred will be charged to the owner of the Dog or cat.

DOGS.

• Vaccination Requirements: By vaccination card, Proof of
  • Distemper
  • Hepatitis Up to three years or earlier if indicated by the veterinarian
  • Parvovirus
  • Leptospirosis Annual. No more than 1 year prior to arrival.
  • Kennel Cough (Bordatella) Annual. No more than 1 year prior to arrival and Must be administered at least 2 Weeks prior to their arrival with us.
• Warren Wood are happy to accept bookings for entire males and un-spayed bitches. However, if you believe that your bitch may be due in season during her stay, please inform us on booking or on arrival.
• All dogs MUST be on a lead on arrival.
• As required by law, all dogs must wear a collar at all times, with a tag stating owners name and address.
• As of the 6th April 2016 all dogs are required by law to be microchipped. Any dog arriving at Warren Wood, not microchipped, will not be accepted for boarding by Warren Wood and will be liable to 100% of the total booking value. No refund or transfer given. Please note, we are required to report dogs that have not been microchipped to the local authority.
• Please do NOT bring Rawhide or other similar potential choking hazards with your dog. These will be disposed of.
• Giant dogs weigh 40Kg or more. Size will be confirmed on arrival.

 

CATS.

• Vaccination Requirements: By vaccination card, Proof of
  • Cat Flu Annual. No more than 1 year prior to arrival.
  • Enteritus Annual. No more than 1 year prior to arrival.
  • Feline Leukaemia Advisory annual vaccination.
• Male cats over the age of 6 months will only be accepted for boarding if neutered.
• Female cats over the age of 9 months will only be accepted for boarding if spayed.
• All cats must be in a suitable carrier of a standard size (Approx. dimensions: Length 46cm x Height 29cm x Width 29cm). We may not be able to store fabric or large carriers during busy holiday periods, as these cannot be left in the pen whilst boarding.
• We are unable to accept cats carried in their owners’ arms.
• As of the 10th June 2024 all cats resident in England are required by law to be microchipped. Any cat arriving at Warren Wood, not microchipped, will not be accepted for boarding by Warren Wood and will be liable to 100% of the total booking value. No refund or transfer given. Please note, we are required to report cats (resident in England) that have not been microchipped to the local authority.

Whilst every care and precaution are taken with every Dog and Cat boarded at Warren Wood Kennels and Cattery, the proprietor cannot be held responsible for any illness, disease or death that may occur during boarding.
